Handoff - Launch and Beyond |

You have reached the “going live” stage! Launching the site to a test area is a major milestone, but there’s work still to be done. Now is the time to gather all the loose ends and wrap everything up before announcing the new site. We need to make certain that everything is in place, working properly, spelled correctly and free of errors. We also plan for your staff to take over certain maintenance tasks based on their qualifications and your desired level of involvement in site maintenance.
Now that your web site is complete, tested and given the stamp of approval, you need to receive all of the information regarding the site. Picturesque creates the final production style guide for future reference and a hand off package. This package includes passwords and other configuration details helpful for the future changes that your site will undergo. All files used in the creation of the site are archived and any training needed for your staff is scheduled.
With the site ready and fully tested, now it's time to have an official launch and announce it to the world. Preparation for promoting the site is conducted and major search engines and directories are notified. The level of marketing depends upon the importance and potential profitability of the site.
Maintenance - It's Never Done! |

A stagnant site is doomed for failure, so a plan of action to maintain the site is established. Perhaps some of your staff can maintain and edit certain portions of the site. If you selected a database driven site (or CMS-Content Management System), then you can edit virtually all of the site.
Training may be needed for these staff members or a plan set in place for Picturesque to continue to keep the site updated. Whatever the need, this is where it is thought out and an action plan established.
These steps outlined on these five pages, illustrate a standard web project. Your five steps will be customized to match your site development needs. Are you ready to get started? For more information, please go to our Contact Page and request more information. Just click here!
